What this is
BagelShopAtlas is a free directory of bagel shops in the United States, organised by state and city. Every listing has an address; most have a phone number, and where a business publishes its hours or services we show those too. Listings come from open data and from the businesses themselves, who can correct their card at any time — about the directory. Nothing on the lists is paid placement.
Pick a state above, or use the “near me” button to jump to the bagel shops closest to you. City pages show the full list with a map; state pages collect smaller towns that have a single bagel shop.

Common questions
What makes a bagel different from a roll?
Bagel dough is boiled briefly in water before it is baked, which gives the bagel its dense, chewy crumb and shiny crust. A roll is simply baked, so it is softer and lighter inside.
What is the difference between a boiled bagel and a steamed bagel?
Traditional shops boil the dough and then bake it, which produces a chewy interior and a slightly crisp outside. Some shops steam the bagels instead of boiling them, and the result is usually softer and puffier. Neither is wrong, so it comes down to the texture you like.
What is a bagel deli?
A bagel deli is a bagel shop that also serves made-to-order sandwiches, salads and soups, often with cured fish, eggs and cold cuts. Many also sell spreads such as plain, vegetable and flavored cream cheese by the pound.
Do bagel shops take orders for a group or an office?
Many do. Large orders of a dozen or more with spreads are much easier to prepare when you call ahead, so ask how much notice the shop needs and whether it offers boxes or trays.
When is the best time to buy bagels?
Early in the morning, when the first batches come out of the oven and every flavor is still in stock. Some shops sell day-old bagels at a discount later in the day, which works well for toasting.
